The future of learning technologies and vocational education will be showcased at a one day event hosted by Warwick University’s Digital Lab on Tuesday 20th September. The EU funded project iEducate, managed by Coventry company e-Learning Studios, is organising the conference to demonstrate to vocational education and training professionals across the UK and Europe how they can use technology to enhance their work with learners. The event is the culmination of a two year project where 6 organisations from across Europe worked together to develop a rich resource website, a virtual training island in Second Life, an accredited e-Learning course, and delivered live training at workshops in several countries. The conference in Coventry will cover all of these areas, and also look at several newly emerging technologies and teaching methods that can be used in education and training. Pete Stevens, iEducate Project Manager, said, “This has been an ambitious project creating resources and sharing teaching methods with educators across Europe who all have different skills levels; but it’s been very interesting and I’m looking forward to meeting the conference guests on the 20th”. If you would like to attend the conference you can contact sabine@ieducate.eu or visit the project’s website www.ieducate.eu iEducate is funded by the EU’s Leonardo da Vinci Lifelong Learning Programme and helps vocational educators to connect with a new generation of learners through demonstrations and applied training in innovative technologies and teaching methods including a virtual teacher training space, an accredited e-Learning course on developing quality e-Learning, a rich website and more innovative new technologies to address the changing workplace. For more information about the project activities please have a look at the website www.ieducate.eu |

July’s ‘Introduction to e-Learning’ course was another great success. Delegates who attended said they thoroughly enjoyed the day and found the course to be very informative and a great insight into the wonderful world of e-Learning. Here are some of the comments from the delegates: A great day which was well organised; the tutors were very good and they presented well The administration of the course was also very good. I will definitely recommend this. Elizabeth Irish Just want to thank all of the staff for the warm welcome and hospitality you all gave and showed me during my stay in Coventry. It felt like a real family atmosphere, I would recommend anyone to attend training at e-Learning Studios and wouldn’t mind coming back myself! Errol L. Mondell The great thing for me was the realisation that it is possible to get on to the ‘merry-go-round’ without spending a lot of money, and being able to recognise applications that would suit the needs of our clients.
